Wednesday, June 10 — Day 18
Final week, day 2. Fractions and atomic structure today.
The deal today
- 9:30 to 12:00 study, with two 20-minute breaks.
- 22 questions. A and B share nothing; B is the harder set.
- Phones off 9:30 to 1:00. The last hour is yours, no screen.
Focus today
Math — push the fractions
- Add, subtract, multiply, divide. Answers like 11/15, 7/20, 29/24 — find the common denominator carefully, then reduce.
- Five two-digit multiplications. Same rule: the slip is the last add.
Science — isotopes and atomic number
- Atomic number = number of protons. That number is the element.
- Isotopes are the same element with different neutron counts (carbon-12 vs carbon-14 — both carbon, 6 protons). We use the most common isotope for the neutron count.
Peace — the held-vs-failed pattern
- Westphalia 1648 held. Camp David 1978 / Israel-Egypt 1979 held, coldly. Dayton 1995 froze a war more than it solved it.
Today's exam (22 questions)
- 11 math (5 two-digit multiplication, GCF, LCM, all four fraction ops)
- 7 science (valence + protons/neutrons/electrons)
- 4 history (Westphalia, Camp David, Israel-Egypt, Dayton)
- No evolution.
